Is BreedLens free to use?

Yes! BreedLens is free to download with 5 scans per day, full breed encyclopedia access, and basic results. The free version includes ads. Subscribe to BreedLens PRO for unlimited scans, full health reports, food safety scanner, AI assistant, and an ad-free experience.

What breeds can BreedLens identify?

BreedLens can identify over 200 dog breeds and 70+ cat breeds, including purebreds and mixed breeds. Our AI is continuously improving to support even more breeds.

Does BreedLens work offline?

Free users use on-device AI that works fully offline. PRO features like detailed health reports and the AI assistant require an internet connection as they use cloud-based AI.

Are my pet photos stored on your servers?

No. Photos sent for AI analysis (PRO users) are processed in real-time and never permanently stored on any server. Free users use on-device processing that never leaves your phone. Scan history is stored locally on your device only.

Scanning & Identification

How do I get the best breed identification results?

For best results: Ensure good lighting, take a clear photo showing the full body or face, avoid blurry images, photograph from eye level, and make sure the animal is the main subject in the frame.

Can BreedLens identify mixed breeds?

Yes! BreedLens can analyze mixed breed dogs and cats, showing possible breed combinations with confidence percentages. Mixed breed analysis is approximate based on visual characteristics.

How accurate is the breed identification?

BreedLens uses advanced AI that provides high-accuracy results, but identification is based on visual analysis and should be treated as an estimate. Accuracy depends on photo quality, lighting, and the animal's appearance. For definitive breed identification, consider a DNA test.

What is the food safety scanner?

The food safety scanner (PRO feature) lets you check if specific foods are safe for your dog or cat. It covers 500+ foods with clear ratings: Safe, Caution, Dangerous, or Deadly. Always consult your vet for specific dietary concerns.

What does BreedLens PRO include?

BreedLens PRO includes unlimited scans, full health reports with diet/exercise/grooming guides, food safety scanner, AI pet assistant, ad-free experience, premium share cards (no watermark), and offline scanning.

What subscription plans are available?

We offer three plans: Weekly ($9.99/week with 3-day free trial), Monthly ($19.99/month with 7-day free trial — Most Popular), and Yearly ($99.99/year with 7-day free trial — Best Value, save 81%).

Is there a free trial?

Yes! All plans include a free trial. Weekly has a 3-day trial, while Monthly and Yearly have 7-day trials. Try BreedLens PRO risk-free and cancel anytime during the trial at no charge.

How do I subscribe to BreedLens PRO?

Open BreedLens, tap the PRO banner or go to Settings, and follow the prompts to subscribe through Google Play or App Store.

Can I switch between subscription plans?

Yes! You can change your plan anytime through your app store subscription settings. Changes take effect at your next billing cycle.

How do I cancel my subscription?

On Android: Google Play Store → Menu → Subscriptions → BreedLens → Cancel. On iOS: Settings → [Your Name] → Subscriptions → BreedLens → Cancel. Note: Uninstalling does NOT cancel your subscription.

How do I restore my subscription on a new device?

Sign in with the same Google/Apple account and go to Settings > Restore Purchases. Your PRO access will be restored automatically.

Can I get a refund?

Refunds are handled by Google Play or Apple App Store according to their policies. Contact them directly for refund requests.

Troubleshooting

The app won't open or keeps crashing

Try: Restart the app, restart your device, update to the latest version from the app store, clear app cache (Settings > Apps > BreedLens > Clear Cache), or reinstall the app.

I'm still seeing ads after subscribing

Make sure you're signed into the same Google/Apple account. Go to Settings > Restore Purchases. Check your internet connection. If issues persist, contact support.

The camera is not working

Make sure you have granted camera permission to BreedLens. Go to your device Settings > Apps > BreedLens > Permissions > Camera and enable it.

Breed identification seems inaccurate

Try taking a clearer photo with better lighting, showing the full body or face. Ensure the animal is the main subject. Mixed breeds may show multiple possible matches. For definitive identification, consider a DNA test.

My scan history is lost

Scan history is stored locally on your device. If you uninstall the app or clear data, history will be lost. There is no cloud backup for scan history at this time.
