Overview
BreedLens AI ("the App") is a mobile AI-powered pet breed identification and pet care management app developed by Colson (operating as ColsonSuperApps). This Privacy Policy explains what data BreedLens AI collects, how it is used, and your rights regarding that data.
Key Point: BreedLens AI is designed with privacy in mind — pet photos are processed via AI and are never permanently stored on our servers.
Information I Do NOT Collect
- Real names or personal identification
- Email addresses (unless you contact support or use Google Drive backup)
- Phone numbers
- Precise location data (GPS)
- Contacts or messages
- Financial information (payments handled by app stores)
- Biometric data
- Health data about you (pet health info is breed-generic, not personal)

Pet Photos
- Photos are sent to Google's Gemini AI API for breed identification, food safety camera scanning, and AI photo detection (meal/poop/weight auto-logging). ALL users (free and PRO) use cloud AI processing for breed identification.
- Photos are processed in real-time and are NOT stored on any server after processing.
- Scan history (breed results and image file paths) is stored locally on your device only.
- If you enable Google Drive backup, pet photos and scan images are compressed and stored in your personal Google Drive app data folder (hidden, only accessible by BreedLens AI).
Google Drive Backup (Optional)
- BreedLens AI offers optional Google Drive backup to preserve your pet data, scan history, AI chat sessions, and photos across devices.
- Backup data is stored in Google Drive's hidden appDataFolder — only BreedLens AI can access it; it is not visible in your Google Drive files.
- You can sign in with your Google account to enable backup. Your Google email is stored locally for display purposes only.
- You can delete all backup data at any time from within the app or by revoking BreedLens AI access in your Google Account settings.
- Backup includes: 10 data categories — pet profiles, scan history, feeding/health/weight logs, AI chat sessions, food check history, vet appointments, food schedules, milestones, pet photos (compressed), and user preferences.
- Backup excludes: subscription status (managed by RevenueCat), daily usage counters, notification tracking, and onboarding state.
Advertising (Free Users Only)
BreedLens AI displays ads to free-tier users via Google AdMob:
- Banner Ads: Small ads at bottom of screens
- Interstitial Ads: Full-screen ads between screens (max 1 per 60 seconds)
- Rewarded Video Ads: Opt-in ads to unlock premium content temporarily
- Native Ads: In breed encyclopedia feed
- App Open Ads: On app launch (max 1 per 4 hours)

Cancel anytime through Google Play or App Store.
Note: Subscription prices are subject to change. Any price changes will be communicated in advance through app store notifications before your next billing cycle.
Personalized Advertising
Ads may be personalized based on your device advertising ID. You can opt out via:
- Android: Settings → Google → Ads → Opt out of Ads Personalization
- iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking → Disable for BreedLens AI
Data Storage & Retention
- Pet profiles, scan history, care logs: Stored locally on device, deletable anytime
- Google Drive backup: Stored in your Google Drive appDataFolder, deletable anytime (max 5 backups retained)
- Analytics data: 14 months (Google Analytics default)
- Crash reports: 90 days (Firebase Crashlytics)
- AI cache (breed reports, food safety): Stored locally on device, auto-expires
- AI chat sessions: Stored locally on device, included in backup if enabled
- Purchase records: As required by law (typically 7 years)
